Orphaned Chairs- by Lee Gayeon

My mother would call chairs thrown off to the wayside in my hometown “orphaned chairs.” This was because she herself had lost her mother at an early age, leaving just her and her siblings to take care of themselves. She would take these chairs and place them in the reception room of our house saying that she lived out her early years just as these orphaned chairs did.
